The stray dog problem is common in a lot of countries, with no easy solution in sight, though at least one company is trying. I’m talking about Pugedon, a company from Turkey, which tries to help both humans and strays from Istanbul. They’ve placed boxes in the city, which act as recycling bins with rewards that make the life of the strays a little bit better. Whenever a bottle is recycled, a certain amount of dog food is released by the machine and a stray dog can eat it directly from the machine. Since the bottles collected this way will pay for the kibble that is released by the machine, the strays are fed with people’s help but without collecting money directly.
